  Decent produce and deli departments. The store is older and the Smiths Marketplace down the road in Kaysville is much nicer, cleaner, and larger.

  Smith's has some of the worst customer service for a grocery store in Layton. The customer service desk has been of no help. Almost every time we go there, we have to go to the service desk because there was a mistake made at the register that has to be corrected. We have complained to the manager about the rudeness of some of the employees we have encountered, and nothing was ever done to correct the issues experienced. We have even had arguments over the use of digital coupons that clearly were applicable to our purchases.
  When we go to the meat counter, it is a fight to get them to freezer wrap the hamburger. I never have that problem when we go to the meat counter at A Fresh Market. Plus, the meat at Smith's is not as good in freshness and quality as other stores.
  We have even had problems with the pharmacy. We have to make sure we count the pills from certain prescriptions because the pharmacy shorted us on medications. We have also had issues with the pharmacy not properly running the prescriptions through insurance and over charging us. We often use the drive up window after a long day at work. Well, we waited for more than 5 minutes with no one answering the phone. I even tried calling into the pharmacy from my cell phone and got no answer. We ended parking and going in, thinking it would be faster. Well, we had to wait in line at the pharmacy for another 8-10 minutes while they served 3 cars at the drive up window. There were at least 6 pharmacy employees, and a few did not seem to be doing much at all.
  I am so frustrated with how awful the customer service is at this store. It is a shame that they treat loyal customers with such disrespect. Smith's is one of the closest stores to my home and we have spent quite a bit of money at this store. My grandma has been a very loyal customer at Smith's for 25 years! I am absolutely appalled with the way Smith's has treated such loyal patrons. It is a shame because Smith's usually has very good sales every week. However, I am not willing to be treated so poorly to save some money. I have decided that we will no longer be giving Smith's any of our families hard earned money. From now on if Smith's has any good sales, I will just be taking the Smith's weekly add to Wall-Mart and take advantage of their policy to price match any local stores advertised price. I am not going to let our family be treated with such disrespect. I encourage all who read this to seriously consider what I have said and at very least make sure you are not being overcharged or being shorted on the prescriptions that you get filled at the Smith's pharmacy. I sincerely hope that this review helps many people in deciding where to shop or get prescriptions filled in the future.

  Smith's is always an excellent place to grocery shop. They have everything we need and good prices. The have good produce and keep the displays looking professional. We have never been dissatisfied with our shopping experiences at Smith's
